Afghan President Hamid Karzai is going to attend the oath taking ceremony of Pakistan's newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari, said a statement of Afghan Presidency released on Monday.

"At the invitation of Pakistani elected President Asif Ali Zardari, the Afghan President will go to Islamabad on Tuesday to attend the oath taking ceremony of Pakistan's new president," the statement said.

Zardari, the widower of late Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, won 481 votes out of 702 votes from Pakistan parliament and provincial assemblies on Sept. 6 and elected as the President of Pakistan.
