A record-high 76.2 percent of Bangladeshi grade 12 students passed their high school exit exam this year, private news agency UNB reported Wednesday.
The results of the country's Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations 2008 were published Wednesday.
It means that 466,570 examinees attending the examinations out of the total 612,381 came out successfully and qualified for university enrollment exams, the report said.
The number of students who secured GPA-5 (Grade Point Average 5)reached 22,045, double the number of last year's 11,140 GPA-5 scorers.
The pass percentage of female students in the HSC examinations is 75.57 and of male a little higher, 76.69.
