An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck parts of New Zealand's North and South Islands on Sunday, causing no casualties or damages so far, the GNS Science said.
The quake, struck at about 9:25 p.m. local time (09:25 GMT) on Sunday, was centered in the Wanganui Basin, at a depth of 90 km.
It was felt widely in the upper North Island and lower South Island.
