Bangladesh on Sunday condemned the recent blasts in the capital of neighboring India, terming this as "barbaric and cowardly," said a statement of the country's foreign ministry.

Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury of Bangladesh's caretaker government has sent a letter to his Indian counterpart, condemning the recent bomb blasts in New Delhi, the statement said.

In his letter, the foreign adviser said such actions are "senseless and against the norms of humanity."

He also declared Bangladesh's solidarity with India at "this sad hour."
