The Mongolian parliament on Wednesday passed Law of the Structure of the Government, proposed by Prime Minister Sanj Bayar. Two deputy PMs and 11 ministries will be installed in the new government.

In the new government, the ministry of industry and trade is repealed and the ministry of mining and energy will be set up. According to the prime minister, Mongolia is faced with historical economic opportunities to develop the industry of mining.

The ministry of external relations, which consists mainly of the former ministry of foreign affairs, also will be set up to take charge of foreign cooperation of economy.

Sanj Bayar will submit the list of members of the new government to the parliament soon.

Parliamentary elections were held on June 29 in Mongolia. The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) and the Democratic Party each won 44 and 26 seats in the 76-member parliament.

The Citizens Will-Republican Party and an independent candidate got one seat each. But the results for the remaining four seats have not been published yet.

The MPRP is entitled to form a new government on its own but the party had decided to establish a united government with the Democratic Party.

Sanj Bayar, chairman of the MPRP, was appointed as the prime minister on Sept. 11.
