The new cabinet list will be ready for a royal endorsement by the King no later than Monday, the ruling People Power Party (PPP) deputy secretary-general Sukhumpong Ngonkham said Thursday.
He said the cabinet lineup of the PPP would have a change of four to five positions, mostly to fill seats left vacant by former ministers who no longer want to be ministers.
They included former prime minister and defence minister Samak Sundaravej, former deputy prime minister Sahas Banthitkul and caretaker deputy prime minister and finance minister Surapong Suebwonglee.
He said it was possible that the posts of foreign minister and finance minister would be given to non-MPs and Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat may concurrently hold the post of defence minister.
On Wednesday, PPP's deputy leader Somchai won more than half support from the 480-seat House of Representatives and became Thailand's 26th Prime Minister. Source:Xinhua
