The Mongolian parliament on Wednesday appointed the new government which includes two deputy prime ministers and 11 ministers led by Prime Minister Sanj Bayar.
Under the new government, a coalition of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) and the Democratic Party, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was repealed and a Ministry of Mining and Energy was added.
The Ministry of External Relations was set up to replace the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Noroviin Altanhuyag, the chairman of the Democratic Party, was appointed the first deputy prime minister. The party's five other officials became ministers.
The deputy prime minister in the former government, Miyeegombo Enkhbold, retains the post in the new government. The former minister of industry and trade, Sukhbaataryn Batbold, was made minister of external relations.
Prime Minister Bayar said one of the government's priorities is to boost economy rapidly by developing the country's mining industry.
Mongolia held parliamentary elections on June 29. Bayar's MPRP and Altanhuyag's Democratic Party won 44 seats and 26 seats each in the 76-member parliament. The Citizens Will-Republican Party and an independent candidate got one seat each. But the results for the remaining four seats have remained unknown.
