At least 12 people died in landslide in western Nepal in past few days, local media reported on Sunday.

According to eKantipur.com report, seven people were killed in landslide in Doti and Dhangadi districts following an incessant rainfall for last three days.

Five persons from a family died in Doti district and three others injured, when a house collapsed after the landslide that occurred Saturday afternoon.

Likewise, two people were killed in Dhangadi district when their house collapsed following a landslide.

Flood in the district has swept away other 74 houses and hundreds of people have been displaced.

Meanwhile, all the flight schedules from Nepalgunj, some 365 km west of Kathmandu, to the far-western and mid-western districts have been cancelled for past two days because of abrupt change in weather in the districts.

Following an incessant rainfall, the swollen Karnali River has inundated Madara village of Kothiyaghat region in Bardia district, some 390 km west of Kathmandu. The police have been carrying out rescue operation in the region Sunday morning.

The water level in the Babai River has increased and the settlements on the riverbank been warned of a probable flood, reported the website.
