At least 25 people died in landslides and floods in some districts in western Nepal following incessant rainfall for past few days, local media reported on Sunday.
According to eKantipur.com report, seven people died in Dodhara village after a flood in the Jogbudha River in Kanchanpur district Sunday.
In Kailali district, the death toll reached 11 on Sunday.
According to the Nepal Red Cross Society, 4,000 families have been displaced by the flood in Kailali district alone.
Meanwhile, five persons from a family died in Doti district and three others injured, when a house collapsed after the landslide that occurred Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, two people were killed in Dhangadi district when their house collapsed following a landslip.
Flood in the district has swept away other 74 houses and hundreds of people have been displaced.
On Sunday, all the flight schedules from Nepalgunj, some 365 km west of Kathmandu, to the far-western and mid-western districts have been canceled for past two days because of abrupt change in weather in the districts.
Following an incessant rainfall, the swollen Karnali River has inundated Madara village of Kothiyaghat region in Bardia district, some 390 km west of Kathmandu. The police have been carrying out rescue operation in the region Sunday morning.
The water level in the Babai River has increased and the settlements on the riverbank been warned of a probable flood, reported the website.
