An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 hit Japan's Tohoku and Hokkaido regions Monday.

The focus of the quake, which occurred at 4:32 p.m. (0732 GMT),was located at a depth of roughly 150 km in the Tsugaru Straight, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

There were no immediate report of casualties or damage to properties. And no Tsunami warning was issued.
