The body of the Ambassador of Czech Republic to Pakistan was flown back to his country in a special military plane on Monday.
Ambassador Ivo Zdarek was killed with his Vietnamese friend in a suicide bombing attack at the Marriott hotel on Saturday, which also killed 53 people.
Ivo Zdarek, aged 47, once served in Vietnam and was appointed as ambassador to Pakistan last month and had been staying at the Hotel, the embassy sources said.
A contingent of Pakistani troops presented salute to the slain ambassador as his coffin was shifted to plane of the Czech Air Force at the Chaklala air base near Islamabad, according to News Network International news agency.
Interior Advisor Rahman Malik and senior Pakistani officials and diplomats of Czech embassy were at the air base on the repatriation of the body.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani expressed condolences with the Czech government, people and family of the slain envoy.
