Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso on Monday ruled out the possibility of dissolving the lower house straight away.

At a budget committee of the lower house, Aso said he is not mulling over the dissolution of House of the Representatives at the moment as the largest public concern is Japan's economic outlook.

It is imperative to let the fiscal 2008 supplementary budget pass at the Diet, he added.

The term of the lower house is to expire in September 2009 and it is widely expected that a general election will take place later than November 2 this year.
