Thai policed fired tear gas Tuesday morning at protesters organized by People's Alliance for Democracy(PAD) who stage rally here since Monday evening in front of the Parliament.

The tear gas, believed at over 30 shots, was fired by police at around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday (2320GMT, Monday) in an attempt to disperse the PAD protesters who blocked road leading to the Parliament compound, where the new government is set to deliver its policy platform later on the day.

The gas caused justles and tramples at the site. More than 20 have been reportedly injured.

PAD activists and leaders have called on their supporters not to panic and to carry on the demonstration in front of the Parliament despite the tear gas.
