Moderate earthquake hits Luzon, Philippines

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Philippines' northwestern island of Luzon at3:13 a.m. Thursday (1913 GMT Wednesday), according to a bulletin released by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The epicenter was initially determined to be 13.0 degrees north latitude and 124.4 degrees east longitude, about 80 km east of Legaspi.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.
