Members of Parliament (MPs) from the EU and Jordan are scheduled to meet on the shores of the Dead Sea next week with the Middle East peace process high on the agenda, local daily The Jordan Times reported Thursday.
The Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA) Committee on Political Affairs, Security and Human Rights will be meeting in Jordan on Oct. 11. It will be followed by an extraordinary session of the EMPA plenary on Oct. 12-13, said a statement from the committee.
Parliamentarians will exchange views on the political committee's report "The Middle East Peace Process", proposed by its bureau with a view to be transmitted to the plenary.
Rapporteurs will also be appointed for two topics: "Freedom of Expression and Respect for Religious Beliefs" and the "Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean", the statement added.
