The Sri Lankan Air Force carried out more raids on Tamil Tiger rebels' positions in the north, the military said Friday.
Military spokesman Janaka Nanayakkara said Air Force jet bombers bombed a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) communications facility at Paranthan in the northern Kilinochchi district at 6:30 a.m local time (0100 GMT),
Another strike was targeted on a hideout of rebel leaders two km northeast of the Kilinochchi town and a Black Tiger (suicide bombers) train camp 1.5 km west of Paranthan at 7 a.m. (0130 GMT).
Meanwhile the police said that they gathered details of an LTTE's woman suicide member who had attempted to kill the senior government minister Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday.
Investigations would proceed on the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card of her mobile phone and her identity card found at the blast site.
Sirisena's convoy was hit by the woman bomber while he was returning from an official function.
About eight people have been arrested, the police said. Source: Xinhua
