Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), inspected a women battery, the official Rodong Sinmun daily said Saturday.
The newspaper reported the leader's inspection of the battery of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Unit 821 on the front page, with a picture of Kim watching women soldiers' training.
Kim urged the soldiers to increase their combat capabilities and was satisfied with the fact that they fulfilled their duties "in a responsible manner with utmost vigilance to cope with the evermore undisguised moves of the enemies for aggression."
It was the second public appearance and first army inspection by the leader in nearly two months. Kim's previous military inspection took place on Aug. 14 when he inspected KPA Unit 1319. Source: Xinhua
