Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Janardan Sharma has said the Nepali government was set to hold talks with all armed groups agitating in different parts of the country for their political demands.

Speaking at an interaction at the Reporters' Club here on Saturday, Sharma said the government was not going to put any pre-condition for the talks as "talks held with pre-conditions keep no meaning".

Sharma said the government was creating necessary conducive environment for talks and the government would leave no stone unturned to make the talks meaningful.

He said nobody needed to panic due to talks about people's republic, as taking peace process to a logical conclusion and writing new constitution were the only common agendas at present.

According to an earlier report, a meeting of the 14 armed outfits in southern Nepal's Terai region being held in an undisclosed location in Indian state of Bihar decided to hold talks with Nepali government if the latter sends a formal invitation for it.

Although the armed outfits haven't come clearly on what they want the government to really do, but it is learnt that they are all unanimous in their demand for an "autonomous Madhesh state" including greater rights for Madhesis in their affairs.
