A homemade bomb exploded and another one was found unexploded on the lawn of a High Court judge's residence here on Saturday afternoon, private news agency UNB reported.

Police officer Daulat Akbar said Justice Sharif Uddin Chakladerwhile coming out from his residence saw two bottles wrapped with red scotch tape under a jackfruit tree on the lawn at about 4 p.m. local time.

"The Justice immediately asked his domestic help to see what the objects are and he (domestic help) threw one of the wrapped bottles that exploded with a big bang," Daulat Akbar said.

Police rushed to the spot and recovered the other unexploded bomb.

No one claimed responsibility for the incident and police also could not ascertain the motive behind it.

A similar incident took place at the residence compound of another High Court judge Tariq ul Hakim, a neighbor of Chaklader, last month.
