At least 10 people were killed and several injured when a suspected U.S. drone struck Miranshah area of Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal agency on the Afghan border, local media reported.

The News newspaper said the U.S. drone fired guided missiles at a house of Taliban commander Sirajuddin Haqqani. But there is no immediate information about whether Haqqani is among the dead.

This is the latest cross-border U.S. missile attacks from Afghanistan. U.S. drones have conducted a series of cross-border strikes inside Pakistan recently, blaming Pakistan's inability to curtain Taliban insurgency in the tribal regions.

The Pakistani government has protested the attacks.
