A magnitude-5.6 quake hit the Philippines' southern region of Mindanao late Thursday afternoon, without casualty or damage reported.
The quake was recorded at 5:21 p.m. local time (0921 GMT), and the epicenter was 75 kilometers to east-southeast of General Santos City at a depth of 123.8 kilometers , the United States Geological Service said in a report posted on its website.
No casualty has been reported in the Philippines.
The Philippines is hit regularly by earthquakes, although most are low in magnitude and cause little damage.
The Southeast Asian country is part of the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, a string of islands on the Pacific Ocean rim that were formed by the eruptions of undersea volcanoes.
