The police on Friday arrested 61beggars in Pakistan's federal capital under the Anti-Beggary Act, according to official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
The arrested beggars were presented before the Anti Beggary Cell set up in the office of additional deputy commissioner in Islamabad, reported APP.
The APP quoted assistant commissioner Farid-ud-Din who is in charge of the Anti Beggary Cell as saying that all the data of arrested beggars was being maintained in the cell along with their
finger prints in order to curb their re-entry in the federal capital.
The police will take action against those gangs involved in using women and children as beggars, according to APP.
