An earthquake with magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter Scale rocked easternmost of Indonesia on Saturday morning, with no report of damage or casualty, meteorology agency said here.
The quake struck at 7:31 a.m. Jakarta time (0031 GMT) with epicenter at 122 km southeast of Manokwari in West Irian Province and at 34 km in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia sits at a vulnerable zone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire" where two continental plates, stretching from the Western Hemisphere through Japan and Southeast Asia, meet, causing frequent volcanic movements. Source:Xinhua
