Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday expressed his sympathy and sorrow with Pakistan over the death of more than 100 people caused by earthquake that shocked Pakistan's southwestern Balouchistan province, said a press release issued here by the Presidential Palace.

"Afghan President has been shocked by the news of killing and injuring scores of people in earthquake that struck villages close to Quetta city, capital of Balouchistan, and expresses his sympathy and condolences to the family of the victims and the people of Pakistan," the press release added.

Over 160 people, according to Pakistan private Dawn News TV, have been killed so far by the earthquake measured magnitude 6.5 early Wednesday morning.
