Vietnam opposes the United States' recent unilateral military attack on a farm in Syrian territory, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday, citing Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Le Dung as saying.

Dung made the statement on Wednesday in response to correspondents' queries regarding Vietnam's reaction to the U.S. attack.

Dung said that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations must always be absolutely respected.

Eight Syrian civilians were killed in a U.S. helicopters attack in a Syrian farm near its border with Iraq on Sunday afternoon, according to the SANA news agency.
