Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith urged Australians here on Sunday to reconsider their travel to Indonesia as the Bali bombers' executions were imminent.
It's unclear exactly when the three Islamic militants, who were convicted for involvement in the 2002 bombings that killed 88 Australians, will go before the firing squad, but the executions are imminent.
The three Islamic militants have been in isolation lock-down at Batu Prison on Nusakambangan Island, off Central Java, since Friday.
Asked about the possibility of revenge attacks by the convicted, Smith told the Nine Network that the government urged people to think hard before heading to Indonesia.
"We're taking all the precautions we can but we do urge Australians to reconsider their need to travel to Bali and Indonesia at this time," he said.
Smith said if people did have to go, they should avoid areas that have been targeted by terrorists in the past.
