A 13-member parliamentary delegation returned to the capital of Kathmandu after completing a study visit to Japan, the Nepali national news agency RSS reported on Sunday.
The delegation had gone to observe the management of the legislature and the political parties in Japan and had come back on Saturday, according to the report.
The delegation made an observation of the functioning of the parliamentary system in Japan, the constitution writing process, the operation of the political system, functioning of the government, political parties and election and the decentralization since Oct. 19.
During the tour, the delegation also held interaction on Japan's experience and practices on these topics.
The delegation comprised eight Constituent Assembly members, two officials of the Election Commission and three officials from the Constituent Assembly Secretariat. The delegation went to Japan with the assistance and at the initiative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Nepali Constituent Assembly was formed and at its first meeting declared the former Hindu kingdom a federal democratic republic on May 28, and it is to draft a new constitution for the country in around two years.
