Indonesian police are investigating a threat on a website to assassinate Indonesian president and other high ranking officials should three Bali bombers be executed, police spokesman Susno Duadji said here Tuesday.

In a website published on Oct. 3 an article to encourage people to kill and wage war against President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Vice President Jusuf Kalla and law minister Andi Matalata as well as other top officials.

The spokesman said that the police will investigate who were the designer of the website and their backgrounds.

Indonesian police has boosted security nationwide as the terrorists have extended their target from the West-liked facilities to the objects that link with the government. The police recently foiled a terrorist-plot to explode an oil depot inJakarta.

On Tuesday morning, bomb threats were received by the U.S. and Australian embassies in Jakarta, but it was not proved.

The Australian embassy was targeted by suicide bombings in 2004, killing scores of people.

Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country, had been hit by a series of major terrorist acts from 2000 to 2005, including Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005, hotel explosion in 2003 and Australian embassy bombing in 2004, killing more than 250 people.

The international militant network of the Jemaah Islamiyah was widely believed behind the deadly strikes.
