The rescue team resumed searching for the bodies of victims killed in landslide and flood in the Cianjur district of West Java province on Monday, after operations were suspended on Sunday afternoon due to heavy rain, the Jakarta Globe on Monday quoted an official as saying.
"The last (of the 11 bodies) was still in the ruins, we only saw his hand," said Ratu Tri Yulia Herawati, head of the Cianjur Health Agency.
A team jointly formed by the Indonesian National Police, Armed Forces, Ministry of Health and provincial Search and Rescue team halted work on Sunday afternoon after having found the bodies of 11 of 14 missing people, including three children.
"We wanted to do something but could not, because of the rain," Herawati said. According to Herawati, more than 200 people had gathered since last Friday to help find and retrieve bodies.
