Pakistan's security forces on Tuesday killed seven more militants during a military operation in northwestern Swat valley, while a security official was killed after an ambush in the region.
The security forces pounded the militant hideouts in the troubled Swat valley in North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and killed seven militants, local Dawn TV news channel said.
In a separate search operation in Swat valley, a security official was killed when the local militants ambushed the convoy of the security forces in Kabal area.
Pakistan's security forces have intensified military operation in the mountainous Swat valley since late July.
Swat valley was once a tourist region dubbed the "Switzerland of Pakistan" but has been a stronghold of pro-Taliban militants for the past one and a half years.
In response to the military operation, the militants retaliated with a wave of suicide attacks.
On Monday, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden car into a check post in Swat valley, leaving four security personnel dead and three others injured.
