The Commander of the United States Pacific Command (PACOM) Admiral Timothy Keating called on Singapore' s Defense Minister Teo Chee Hean here on Wednesday morning.

Keating also had a breakfast meeting with Singapore's Acting Chief of Defense Force Major-General Neo Kian Hong.

A statement by Singapore's Defense Ministry said Keating's visit underscores the excellent bilateral defense relationship between Singapore and the U.S.

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the U.S. PACOM interact extensively through bilateral and multilateral exercises, visits and professional exchanges which have fostered professional rapport and mutual understanding between the two armed forces, said the statement.

Keating departs Singapore on Wednesday.
