Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Thursday sent a condolences letter to his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh concerning the series of terrorist attacks that killed more than 100 people in India's financial capital of Mumbai.

In the letter, Lee said Singapore stands ready to assist India in any way to secure the safe release of the Singaporean and other hostages in Mumbai.

He also said he is confident that the Indian people will rally around the government as it deals with the terrorist attacks and brings the perpetrators to justice.

He added that the Mumbai attacks are a reminder that terrorism continues to be a common threat to everyone, and Singapore strongly supports the Indian government's efforts in fighting the scourge of terrorism.
