The Singapore Foreign Ministry on Sunday night said that Singapore hopes all parties in Thailand will exercise utmost restraint and find a peaceful resolution of their differences.
"We trust all parties will exercise utmost restraint and find a peaceful resolution of their differences. Resorting to violence can never be justified," the Singapore Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In response to media queries about explosions at the Thai Government House and Don Mueang airport in Bangkok, the Singapore foreign ministry said that Singapore is concerned about the recent developments in Thailand and is monitoring the situation closely, especially when there are many Singaporeans and other foreign tourists stranded in the country as a result of the closure of the two airports.
The well-being of Singaporeans is their primary concern, and Singapore hopes that the situation will return to normal as soon as possible so that the safety of stranded foreigners can be assured, the ministry said.
The Singapore ministry has been coordinating closely with Singapore carriers to mount additional flights to move stranded Singaporeans out of Bangkok.
