British Foreign Minister David Miliband on Monday telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and discussed bilateral relations and shared views on regional and global situation.
Qureshi informed his British counterpart that Pakistan had strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, according to official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
He said Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani called the Indian Prime Minister to express grief over the terrorist attacks and assured the Indian leadership of Pakistan's support at this critical time.
Qureshi said in his interaction with Indian leaders, opinion makers and media, he offered assistance and cooperation from Pakistan in countering extremism and terrorism which was the common enemy of both countries.
David Miliband lauded Pakistan's role in the fight against extremism and terrorism. He expressed the hope that Pakistan and India would continue their bilateral cooperation in the interest of stability and economic development of South Asian region, according to the APP.
