DPRK official daily urges U.S., S. Korea to drop hostile policies toward DPRK |

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s official Minju Joson daily on Wednesday urged the United States and South Korea to abandon their hostile policies towards the DPRK on the eve of a new round of nuclear talks.
"It is a prerequisite to the denuclearization of the peninsula for the U.S. to make a switchover in its hostile policy towards the DPRK, and for South Korean to discard the policy of confrontation with its fellow countrymen," said the newspaper in a commentary.
It attributed the "nuclear issues" of the Korean peninsula to the U.S. military presence and U.S.-South Korea joint military exercises against the DPRK.
It warned that the South Korea government would draw "more stern punishment" from the DPRK if it continued its tough policies.
A fresh round of six-party talks will be held on Monday in Beijing to discuss denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. The talks also involved China, Russia and Japan.
The relations between the DPRK and South Korean were even strained after the DPRK posed strict restrictions on bilateral economic and cultural exchange to retaliate against South Korea government's hostile policies.
