U.S. President George W. Bush paid a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Monday.

This is his second but last visit to Afghanistan after touring Iraq as the President of the United States during which he would meet President Hamid Karzai and U.S. troops in the post-Taliban nation.

Bush's visit took place amid increasing Taliban attacks against Afghan and the U.S.-led NATO and Coalition forces in Afghanistan.

A U.S.-led military campaign ousted Taliban fundamentalist regime from power seven years ago in December 2001 but has failed to diminish its loyalists from Afghanistan and the region.
