A Magnitude 6.2 earthquake jolted the southern Philippine region of Mindanao on Thursday, with no casualty or damage to property reported yet.
The quake was recorded at 11:20 a.m. local time (0320 GMT), and the epicenter was 55 kilometers southeast of the General Santos city, or 1095 kilometers south-southeast of Manila at a depth of 207.5 kilometers, the United States Geological Service (USGS) said in a report posted on its website.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported the quake as Magnitude 5, in an area 85 kilometers south of General Santos.
Renato Solidum, chief of the local quake agency, said he was not expecting significant damage although there could be possible aftershocks.
Earlier, USGS reported another quake in Mindanao. The 4.9-magnitude quake was recorded at 07:56 a.m. local time (2356 GMT), with the epicenter 900 kilometers southwest of Manila at a depth of 96.5 kilometers.
The Philippines is hit regularly by earthquakes, although most are low in magnitude and cause little damage.
The Southeast Asian country is part of the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, a string of islands on the Pacific Ocean rim that were formed by the eruptions of undersea volcanoes.
