New Zealand hopes Pacific Islands Forum will help to resolve dispute with Fiji |

New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully said on Monday that he hoped a meeting of Pacific Islands Forum leaders next month will be pivotal in resolving matters with Fiji.
McCully said there is no communication with Fiji officials at the moment following the expulsion of New Zealand's acting High Commissioner in Suva.
New Zealand's previous High Commissioner, Michael Green, was also expelled in June 2007.
McCully said leaders at next month's meeting plan to hold Fiji's interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama accountable for not meeting his commitment to hold elections by March.
But the Auckland-based Coalition for Democracy in Fiji said efforts should be made to get dialogue going now, Radio New Zealand reported on Monday.
Spokesperson Nik Naidu said Fiji might not turn up to the forum if talks don't continue in the meantime, adding that the relationship between New Zealand and Fiji is too important to jeopardize.
