An official newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday accused the United States of using double standard over nuclear issues and fostering proliferation.

The United States alleged that the DPRK and Iran, which it viewed as countries with "nuclear ambition," proliferated nuclear weapons to terrorist groups, while it provided some other counties with nuclear fuel and technology, said a commentary carried by theMinju Joson daily newspaper.

It proved that the United States had no clear gauge on nuclear issues and makes up its nuclear policy at will, the paper said.

All the current nuclear issues were related, directly or indirectly, to the United States, which took the proliferation issue as a bargain, it said.

The latest round of the six-party talks ended in early December in Beijing without a deal on nuclear verification, as the DPRK and the United States failed to close their gaps over related issues.
