The three explosive devices that were safely detonated on Friday near the Ministry of National Defense and the TV3 headquarters were of little danger to the public, national media reported on Wednesday.

According to the analysis of the bomb parts, they were made from aerosol cans packed with TNT and would have been noisy but not destructive, said Heng Ratana, director general of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC).

CMAC barred any potential of the devices to cause fire or provoke chaos in the public, he was quoted by Khmer-English language newspaper the Cambodia Daily as saying.

"It is difficult to draw conclusions," he said, adding that he was stumped as to the motives of the bomb planters.

The Cambodian police had identified two persons suspected of planting the explosive materials and were investigating more details of the case, said government spokesman Khieu Kanharith earlier this week.

They committed acts of terrorism, which had affected the social order and security, he added.

Police on Friday found the cans containing explosive substances near the ministry and TV3 in downtown Phnom Penh.

CMAC group immediately detonated them, without causing any damage and casualty.
