At least six people were killed in house fires in Tokyo and the city of Nara early Wednesday morning, local media reported.
In Tokyo, four people, including two children, died in a 5:20 a.m. (2020 GMT Tuesday) fire in Tokyo. Four other people in the house sustained injuries, Kyodo News quoted police source as saying.
In Nara, a fire broke out at around 2:35 a.m. (1735 GMT Tuesday), killing two elderly people.
Meanwhile, in Hakodate, Hokkaido, 17 people were hospitalized after they inhaled smoke following a fire in a multi tenant building at around 5:30 a.m. None of them was in a life-threatening condition, according to local police. Source:Xinhua
