Minister: Nepal to host one mln tourists in 2011

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Hisila Yami said the government had already started preparatory work to meet the goal of one million tourists for Nepal Tourism Year 2011, The Himalayan Times reported on Thursday.

Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Association of Tour Operators here Wednesday, the minister said the tourism sector had seen positive development with political stability and peace process.

She said upgrading work had begun at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the only international airport in the capital Kathmandu, while the Pokhara airport in western Nepal is also in the government schedule.
