Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), called again on the people and army to launch "a new great revolutionary surge," thus "opening the gate of a great prosperous powerful nation" in 2012, the official Rodong Sinmun daily said on Sunday.
The constructors of Wonsan Youth Power Station displayed the "inexhaustible mental power" of the Korean people to build a "great prosperous powerful socialist nation," Kim said in a letter of thanks sent on Wednesday to the builders of the newly-built Wonsan Youth Power Station, carried by the Rodong Sinmun.
He called on constructors in the country to carry on the traditional merit of the nation and "create miracles constantly" in the production and construction.
He also called for keeping vigilance on the "ideological penetration of imperialists."
Kim visited the Wonsan Youth Power Station on Tuesday, state media reported.
Kim called for starting "a new revolutionary surge" while inspecting Chollima Steel Complex in December.
It was the unshakable will and resolution of the DPRK people to "open the gate of a great prosperous powerful nation" in 2012, the centenary of the birth of the late president Kim Il Sung, Kim said.
