At least three vessels were sent to search for survivors of the Teratai Prima ship, which sank in waters near Majene regency, West Sulawesi of Indonesia, on Sunday morning and caused over 200 missing.
The efforts made to search for survivors involved 100 personnel from different institutions, namely Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency (SAR), Navy Force and Sea and Air Police.
A high tide up to five meters will be a major problem for the team to search survivors.
According to Indonesian Transport Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal, his ministry will not hesitate to give penalty to the Teratai Prima ship owners and the captain because they neglected the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology and Geophysiscs (BMG's) warning of "to postpone the departure due to a bad weather."
"The voyage of ships in the water area should be made just in the middle of the day, not in the night because of the recent bad weathers currently," the Indonesian leading Detikcom on Monday quoted Jusman as saying.
He added that the Ministry will revoke the license of shipping companies which repeat the mistakes of Teratai Prima. Source: Xinhua
