Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Singaporean Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew here on Wednesday.

Dung said that he was happy to see the fine development between the two countries, especially in economic cooperation activities.

He believed Lee's visit will further boost the friendship cooperation between the two countries.

Dung briefed Lee on Vietnam's socio-economic situation, especially the country's economy under the negative impacts of the global financial crisis and measures taken so far to curb the economic recession.

The two leaders discussed the impact of global financial crisis on Asia and measures to deal with the crisis.

Lee was in Vietnam for a visit from April 13 to April 17.
