Moderate earthquake jolts central Japan |

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 jolted Hokkaido in northern Japan on Tuesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The focus of the quake, which occurred at 08:21 p.m. local time, was some 30 km underground at 42.5 degrees north latitude and 145.2 degrees east longitude. The quake was felt strongly in eastern Hokkaido.
There were no reports of injuries or damage. No tsunami warning was issued.
