Brunei has been chosen to be a representative nation to the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO), Brunei newspapers reported on Monday.

The Brunei Health Ministry said Brunei was chosen to the WHO's governing body at the 62nd World Health Assembly held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The sultanate would serve at the body from 2009 to 2012.
