New Zealand Prime Minister JohnKey announced on Monday that Nathan Guy is to be appointed Minister outside Cabinet.

Guy, the National party's current Senior Whip and Member of Parliament for Otaki region, will replace Richard Worth.

Guy will take over the Internal Affairs portfolio and will also take responsibility for Archives New Zealand and the National Library.

He will also be Associate Minister of Justice and take the new position of Associate Minister of Transport.

Guy gained the jobs after Worth resigned as an MP late on Friday after earlier being asked to resign as a minister when it emerged that he was under police investigation over allegations of a sexual nature involving a business woman from New Zealand's Korean community.

A second allegation was also made against Worth by a member of the Labor Party.

The woman involved, Neelam Choudary, alleged that between November and February, Worth sent dozens of text messages, some sexually explicit, and called her numerous times.

In a public statement she also said Worth offered her jobs in his ministerial capacity.
