Under an agreement inked here in the Afghanistan capital Wednesday Agency France de Development (AFD) agreed to assist and provide a grant of three million Euros (some four million U.S. dollars) to Afghanistan, a statement of Afghan Public Health Ministry said.

"AFD's representative to Afghanistan Yaf Terakel and WHO's (World Health Organization) country director Peter Grafe inked the agreement," the statement added.

The amount will be spent through WHO within the next two years for elimination of polio, malaria and leishmania in Afghanistan, the statement added.

Afghanistan has made considerable achievement in the field of health as currently 85 percent of people have access to health services.
