Bangladesh and the United States are going to hold their first-ever bilateral talks in September to discuss entire range of issues between the two countries, local news agency UNB reported on Wednesday.
Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Dipu Moni disclosed the decision at a press briefing in Dhaka on Wednesday, a day after her telephone talks with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the report said.
Hillary Clinton will lead the U.S. side at the talks which would be held either in New York or Washington around the time of the U.N. General Assembly, the private news agency said.
"It's not going to be a sideline meeting of the UN General Assembly...it will be a full-fledged bilateral meeting," Dipu Moniwas quoted as saying at the press briefing.
However, Moni said agenda of the talks will now be prepared.
Before the September talks, Dipu Moni is expecting to meet Hillary Clinton at the ASEAN Regional Forum meeting at the end of this month, according to the UNB.
